"Dictionary of Woodworking Tools"
by R.A. Salaman
Review by Mark Gezella – February 2003
This book holds a special place in my personal library because it is the first book I bought on the subject. I reference it on a regular basis for specific information and for leisure reading from time to time. The book contains a very through explanations of trades (quite varied), tools and their usage. I recommend it for anyone who has an interest in hand tools, both past and present. It is heavily documented and illustrated, with tools dating from the 1700’s through the 1900’s.
This book is currently not available in the Guild Library, however copies can be purchased from Taunton Press.
Mark advises that the Guild Library has not bought any new books lately; however, funds are available, so if you have a particular book and/or video in mind that you think would be useful additions to our library please advise Mark. The Guild’s library is located in two cabinets around the corner in the back of the meeting room at Wood Craft. It is open at least a half hour before and after the meetings. Any member may check out any item for a month at a time.
