My Peace Bench is made of mahogany.  The dove & heart joinery is inspired by the Japanese master furniture maker Kintaro Yazawa, whose remarkable joinery is featured in the June 2007 issue of Fine Woodworking.  The inlaid olive-branch representation is made with sand-shaded holly veneer.
