Flag Kit
This kit is not assembled, but is a matched kit of parts. Children assemble and paint as desired.
Tools: Band Saw or Scroll saw, Sanders – rotary and belt. Drill Press.
Sand paper or emery boards. Router with 1/8" round over bit for flag and base.
Make pattern from print of Flag by gluing to a piece of cardboard. Cut 3/8" wood to rough size. Stack 2 or 3 pieces together with double faced carpet tape. Attach pattern on top with tape and saw out flags and pattern at the same time. This will aid in smoothing the cut edge.
Separate pieces and sand surfaces with a belt sander. Round over all edges with 1/8" bit using router table. Drill 1/8" hole in bottom of flag.
Make base from 3/8" wood and cut to shape. Round over top edge and drill hole ½" off center as shown.
Cut 1/8" dowel to 3" length.
